Chuck steak is often described as a low-quality cut of beef; however, chuck steak can be one of the most flavoursome beef cuts available! Granted, it is a tougher cut of meat; however, this is a simple fix! It just requires a little more cooking to bring out the rich flavours and deliver on that ‘melt-in-your-mouth’ texture that we all know and love! 

Chuck steak comes from the neck and shoulder area of the cow, these muscles are used frequently which is what gives it the toughness that doesn’t make for great eating.  

To make the most of chuck steak it should be slow-cooked, to break down the tough muscle fibers and increase the tenderness of the meat.
